  • The Astatic CB-1A is a combination UHF converter and VHF TV booster.  It permits continuous tuning through all UHF channels (14-83) on VHF TV sets and provides additional gain for improved reception on the VHF channels (2-13).  The circuit consists of two tuned preselectors, a 6AF4 oscillator and a 1N82 diode mixer.  Uses two-stage neutralized push-pull amplifier with a 6J6 driving a 6BQ7A grounded grid amplifier.  There is a four-position control knob for straight through VHF, boost on low VHF channels, boost on high VHF channels, and UHF operation.
