    This New Astor invention enables you to control the radio at a distance from the receiver. You choose your programs and control the volume WITHOUT RISING . . .. from your armchair, lounge, or bed.
    The receiver is entirely operated from the neat control unit by your side.

    EXCLUSIVE FEATURES OF ASTOR ARMCHAIR CONTROL.

    ILLUMINATED CALL-SIGN indicator in the bakelite control unit gives automatic selection of stations,

    VOLUME CONTROL knob enables volume to be regulated from your armchair.

    NEW NON·OSCILLATING CIRCUIT incorporates the remarkable Philips Metal Clad Screen Grid Valves with super-power pentode,

    The radio is controlled by two knobs on the wired remote control and there are no other controls either inside or outside the set itself.

    The remote control is made from Bakelite, 4.5" by 2" with tuning on the left, volume on the right and an illuminated dial inductor in the centre.

    Possibly the same chassis as the Sultan OF, however the cabinet is unique in that is has no controls.
