  • "The type 6A8G & 6B8G valves may be substituted with types 6J8G and 6G8G respectively. These valves types must be used in combination and cannot be substituted as independent replacements otherwise distortion at low volume will result. When using the types 6J8G and 6G8G tubes a slight circuit alteration is necessary as follows:-

    (a) An additional 60K, 1W carbon resistor is to be connected in parallel and directly across the existing 60K, 1W resistor, circuit no. 36.

    (b) The 60K, 0.5W resistor, circuit no. 37, is to be replaced with a 10K, 0.5W resistor."

Later models use a permag speaker: "The next production run of the Model 'LS' receiver serial No. commencing at No. 1111 will use a 12" permanent magnet type speaker in place of the 12" electro dynamic type."
