- Anotaciones
-
This is an earlier model than the GPN-A using a different transistor selection. The radio uses tag strip construction rather than the printed circuit board of the GPN-A. The plastic case appears (from photographs) to similar or identical to the later model. The weight is without battery. Anything other than the most basic service work requires that the metal chassis be removed from the case.
There are 8 colour combinations listed in the Technical Bulletin uploaded under Schematics and there are 10 transistor combinations listed with some minor component changes as well as 2 different NTC resistors, again with resulting component changes. A comprehensive list of component parts is also included.
The case, ferrite rod antenna, tuning gang and speaker are all direct transplants from the (4 Valve) RQ model from 1955 which was still on sale in 1958 as an alternative to the HPN.
