  • WLW was Crosley's station in Cincinnati, Ohio. September 1923 it worked on 309 meters. (There were other Cincinnati stations in 1923 like WAAD on 360 m, WHAG on 222 m,and WMH on 248 m) 1926 its slogan was "The station with a soul". 1946 WLW was working on 700 kHz (428 meters) with 50 kW. WLW, in Cincinnati, Ohio was the first commercial 50 kW station in the U.S. and the only commercial standard broadcast station to broadcast at 500KW from 1934 to 1939. There are pictures of what is left of the 500 kW transmitter.
