Portable Instrumentation Tape Recorder 7005 - 7006 - 7007

The Bruel & Kjaer  series of Instrumentation  Tape Recorders  7005, 7006 and 7007 are portable instruments supplied with dry cells, rechargeable batteries or with an optional AC plugin module.

These instrumentation tape recorders use spools of tape width 7" of diameter (maximum) and 1/4" of width. Available speeds of the tape are 38.1 mm/s or 381 mm/s. 

These recorders are for professional use extremely robust and well built. They are based on plug in modules that offer all the electronics necessary to record vibrations  without necessity of any other equipment.

There are four most important plug in modules:

Direct Unit ZE 0299, providing overall record-reproduce frequency response from 20 Hz up to 60 kHz. Has stepped and variable input attenuators, plus overload warning light.

FM Unit ZM 0053, providing overall record-reproduce frequency response extending from DC up to 12.5 kHz. Has stepped and variable input attenuators, plus overload warning light.

Vibration Unit ZM 0060, FM module featuring charge amplifier input for direct coupling of accelerometers. System calibration is not necessary when using accelerometers with a sensitivity of 1 pC/m s'J, such as the Uni-Gain' Types 4371 and 4384. Selectable acceleration and velocity modes. Lower frequency limits  are: 0.3 Hz. 1 Hz or 10 Hz. Frequency range up to 20 kHz. Record sensitivity can be stepped to give 9 calibrated output ratings from 1 mV to 10 V/vibration unit.  Permit easy determination of recorded vibration levels on playback.

Two Channel Compander ZM 0054, for automatic level regulation with two of the FM, Direct or Vibration Units. Facilitates unattended recording and enables non stationary signals with dynamic range of over 70 dB to be recorded and reproduced. Has "Lin" and “A-weight” input modes. Both voltage and Mic Preamp, inputs are provided which bypass the preamplifier and attenuator stages of the Direct.FM and Vibration units.

Bruel Recorder Type 7005 includes a Direct Unit, 3 FM Units and a Two Channel Compander Unit, it is a general purpose recorder for sound and voltage measurements.

Recorder Type 7007 includes 4 Vibration Units and no Compander Unit and is the logical choice for applications dealing exclusively with vibration measurements.

Type 7006 is the recorder, in which any combination of Direct, FM and Vibration Units, with or without a Two Channel Compander may be fitted to suit particular application needs.

Standard Type 7006 Portable Instrumentation Tape Recorder offers a variety of options for the users recording needs. There are two on-board vibration unit channels and two on-board FM unit channels, each offering I / O ports. Each channel features a mode switch, which allows the user to switch between calibrations; also, the user can switch between AC and DC power, depending on your needs. The Type 7006 tape Recorder also features a Two-Channel Compander Unit, which offers two direct input channels that also feature a preamp input. There is also a front voice microphone port for recording. This Type 7006 comes with the option to hear audio via a front speaker or through headphones.
