  • Anotaciones
  • The Brunswick Cordova 8 is a combination Brunswick phonograph and Radiola 28 AR-998 with horn reproducer mounted in a cabinet.

The Radioa 28 AR-998 has a dual drum tuner, Battery Setting control, and Volume control.  A metal tube cover is located horizontally above the controls.

A voltmeter, such as the Weston-Jewell 135-A, is mounted to the Radiola 28 AR-998 top panel and is used while the tube voltages are adjusted; nominal value is 3V.

The Brunswick phonograph has an acoustic output with manually wound spring motor.

The horn reproducer is a combination Phonograph (acoustic input) and Radioa (electrical input).  The reproducer source selection switch is located on the cabinet right side, next to the phonograph crank; PHONOGRAPH or RADIOLA.  The switch shaft appears to mechanically control a baffle inside the sounder to block or open the sound from the magnetic reed sounder output (with Radiola input).  The phonograph acoustic output is directly sent to the horn.

Repairs were difficult because of the "catacomb" design of the cabinet.
