    The Solauto PP429 utilizes the same cabinet as the Solistor Transistor 8 up to the dial assembly. The original Solistor dial is covered with a faceplate of a more modern design with the SOLAUTO lettering. An additional knob was introduced to replace the slide switch of the Solistor.

    It was intended as a pluggable radio for vertical mounting in cars as well.
