  • The UE Series are AC/DC operated, 6-tube, BC and SW band receivers.  Uses ballast tube L42C.  These are the E versions that have magic eye tuning.

    Because the schematic shown on Rider's Vol. 9, page 9-2, is generic (since all of the UExx models have this same schematic), this model page is representative of all of the UExx models and listed here for reference only.  There are no actual "UE" only models.

    The updated U & UE model schematic (Rider's Vol. 9, p. 9-2) is very similar to the earlier U model schematic (Rider's Vol. 8, p. 8-16).  Both versions use the same parts, however the eye tube is wired differently in the updated models. 

    Also note that the model names were clarified: the updated U models now have no magic eye, and the UE models have magic eye; much less confusing than the prior U models where the with and without magic eye models were all U models.

    Also uses a Bias Cell.
