  • New Zealand Wireless Set Z.C.1 Mk I: Military transceiver covering 2 - 6 MHz, operating modes CW, MCW and AM.
    Output power around 2,5 W.
The design of this set was principally based on the English Wireless Set No. 19, but this set did never incorporate a UHF "B set".
Standard aerial was a 34 foot rod field base antenna and a counterpoise earth, there has been an optional Z.A.1 power amplifier.
The earliest of three variants incorporated an aerial current meter, the second a place with a watch holder at the same place and with the third and most frequently found variant, the watch holder is fitted directly to the front panel.
Most if not all of the Z.C.1 Mk I have been produced by Collier & Beale, the first production batch has been shipped after December 1942.
The New Zealand Wireless Set Z.C.1 Mk I has seen use at the war theatre in the Pacific.
