  • Modèle: Short Wave Converter 10 - Courtenay Brand; Various
  • Remarques
  • This short-wave converter is to work from 230 volts A.C. mains. It consists of two valves, a 1V in the self-contained power pack, and a 6F7, combined pentode mixer and separate triode oscillator. It will tune in shortwave stations from 16-5.5 megacycles ( 19-50 metres) when adapted to any broadcast receiver with reasonable sensitivity.

The principle of a short-wave converter is to receive short-wave stations and "heterodyne" them with a local oscillator so as to produce a new frequency falling in the broadcast band. When introduced into the antenna and earth terminals of the broadcast receiver this frequency is amplified and detected as a broadcast signal in the usual manner.
