The Crescent model H-1A Series Wire Recorder is a combination record player and magnetic record-reproducer made by Crescent Industries, Inc., Chicago. The model H-1A uses a standard spool of .004 or .0036 stainless steel wire which gives approximately an hour of continuous recording. There are different motors possible like standard for 105-125 volts, 60 cycles but also for 50 cycles and motor 220 volts 50 cycles. Also the pickup arm and pivot spring assembly can be WR21-B as used on CWR30 and E-1000 Series - or the WR50 used on C-1000 and M-1000 Series. Pickup cartridges are either Shure Bros. P-92B, L-70 Astatic or P-30S from Shure Bros. Three different Recording heads are possible (Crescent or St. George).
