- Bemerkung
-
Crosley sold different "Grandfather Clock Radios", at least the models "The Play-Time" 1-M or I-M chassis 124, sometimes called 124 Playtime (8 tubes: 35 RF, 27 osc, 24A 1st det, 35 IF, 27 2nd det + AF, 47, 47, 80) and sometimes called 124-M Playtime - with the same tubes and probably look ... We can not yet decide if it is the same model or if we should unite them on one model page. See also the cathedral radio 124 or 124-M Playboy, consoles 124 Cheerio, 124 Merrymaker and 124 Announcer with this chassis with push-pull output and speakers 306-J or 306-M. 3 different transformers were available - at least for the ordinary radios with chassis 124: 110 Volts 60 cycles (P53), 110 Volts 25 cycles (P52) or 220 Volts 25 cycles (P51). 3-gang tuning capacitor, no AVC. Volume is regulation of antenna. There is a tone control, perhaps featured as noise killer.
At about the same time was the Grand Father Clock Radio "Oracle 59" (tubes 35, 35, 24, 47, 80). Those were followed by the 125 Playtime jr. (with tubes 24A, 35, 24A, 47, 80) and by the 141 Playtime jr. (with 24,58, 57, 47, 80) Grandfather Clock Radios, which also could be written as Play-Time.
