The Crosley 128 "Battery Chieftain" is an Battery operated 8 tube BC band receiver. Has push pull audio output stage. Has shadow dial that uses neon lamp and continous (stepless) tone control.
From the Crosley News Brochure: The front inside panel is of figured oriental wood arched with an overlay of bird's eye maple. The doors are of fancy matched walnut veneer. American black walnut veneer is used in the top and sides.
