- Notes
- This is the early version of the "Harko Senior Audion Receiver + Two-Step Amplifier" combination. This combination was at least possible in February 1922 - with the first version of both sets - but we have the official ad for the combination in May 1922 as "Complete Receiving Station" in "Radio Broadcast" Vol. 1, No.1, page 81. The Harko Senior Audion Receiver, a "combined tuner and audion detector" has front switch and lid. In the middle of the two knobs for the two stations, there is a front panel switch to select one or two stages of amplification. Box has overhanging lid. By the way, there are at least three different versions regarding engraving: First version February 1922 with market introduction: straight without special logo: "Crosley two step amplifier" in one line. Second version May 1922 - engraving in two lines. Third version: Later or on the same time it was available without any engraving for the name. In 1923 it was not anymore on the market.
Here is a link to some sources for this model.
Later models have no such switch on the front and are a bit cheaper. The lid is integrated and without overhang. Those later models could be bought with or without engraving "Crosley Cincinnati TWO STEP AMPLIFIER" (including the logo) - with a price difference of one $.
