  • Annotazioni
  • In the September ad for "Radio News", Crosley features a total of 8 combinations. We have a model page for the combination of "Harko Sr." plus "R.F.T.A." plus "Two-Step Amplifier", because this was offered the month before in "Radio Braodcast", but show the other 7 combinations here. They have only been described by Crosley, not offered with certain prices.

The first illustration shows the Crosley Crystal Receiver No. 1, with an added Audion Detector Unit, making in effect the Harko Senior. The second illustration shows how the "R.F.T.A." can be added to get the Crosley Receiver No.6. The third combination is the Crosley "Crystal Receiver No. 1" with the "Audion Detector" and the "Two-Stage Audio Frequency Amplifier". The 4th step is to use combination two plus the "Two Stage Audio Frequency Amplifier", what in effect is the Crosley model X. The solution 5 is a Harko Senior combined with the "R.F.T.A." and solution 6 is the Harko Senior combined with the "Two-Stage Audio Frequency Amplifier".

Combination 7 is the one first named, which was offered in August an in effect is again the Crosley model X. The last, combination 8, is a Crosley Receiver No. 6, combined with the "Two-Stage Audio Frequency Amplifier" - in effect again making a model X. We have to bear in mind that Crosley then was in a difficult situation: In Summer 1922 the sunspot interference peaked and sets without regeneration had poor and only local reception. Also the many stations on 360 m became a big problem. Many sets came back from customers and piled up. The missing regeneration, a patent from Armstrong, was badly missed.
