  • Annotazioni
  • With the coil assembly MS-55, Continental Rádio e Televisão planned to develop a family of radio receivers to cover all modes of power supplies opperation - see models C-6 CA, C-6 Pilhas and CB-55.

However the last model (RD-55), a table top radio that operates with car battery, needed a different chassi and consequently different wood cabinet. That was due to high level of electric noise generated by the vibrator, what demanded some chassi shielding in order to keep the receiver sensitivity. So, although this model uses the MS-55 coils, it was too different to be considered belonging to the same kit family.

The perception is that, in local market, car battery powered table radios were preferred over dry batteries models because, on long run, they were more echonomic and had more output power.

    Model RD-55

MW SW table top radio, car battery powered, developed for farms and others non-electrified areas. Supplied in kit format.

6V6 plate current was reduced (1K cathode resistor) otherwise the +B voltage was too low, due to the power supply limitations.

    MS-55 CRT coils

    Ac transformer: 2x 220V / 50 mA

    Output transformer: primary 5K Ohms

CHRF coils: 20 turns, # 14 wire, 10 mm diameter
