  • Remarques
  • This is a 1904 Receiver of the American DeForest Wireless Telegraph Co (1902-1906). It is comprised of a Syntonizer (a tuner) and a Responder (an electrolytic detector with “glass points”). In 1904 Lee DeForest won the Gold medal at the World’s Fair in St. Louis for his system and was demonstrating reliable wireless communication between his Tower at the Worlds Fair and Chicago (a distance of 300-miles). Later that year he contracted with the US Navy to build 5 high-power stations using equipment such as this. Note that the DeForest Responder changed a lot during this early period. There are at least 4 different versions of the Responder. This is a 1904 model because of its similarity to the Worlds Fair Tower Responder.
