- Remarques
- DuMont introduced the RA-112A series of 19-inch and the RA-113B series of 17-inch TVs (or "Telesets" as DuMont called them) in 1950. These models use a chassis similar to that of the RA-111 series, which has fewer tubes and is lower cost overall than earlier DuMont models. The RA-112/113 chassis uses the 4-gang spiral Mallory-Ware Inductuner introduced on the RA-109 series, which tunes continuously from 44-216 MHz to cover the VHF low (including Channel 1, which was no longer in use), FM radio, and VHF high bands. Like many other DuMont Telesets, a 6AL7GT eye tube serves as a tuning aid. By this time, most other manufacturers had adopted click-type or turret tuners; DuMont stayed with continuous tuners, which makes their sets unique. Starting with the RA-112/113 chassis, the IF frequencies were changed from 26.4/21.9 MHz to 26.25/21.75 Mhz to eliminate an interference problem on Channel 7. This brought DuMont in line with other manufacturers in choice of IF frequencies.
The RA-112/113 chassis uses a dual 1X2 voltage doubler in the HV power supply to generate sufficient HV for 17- and 19-inch CRTs. The RA-113 models use a rectangular 17AP4 CRT for the first time in DuMont Telesets; all previous models (as well as the RA-112 models) have round CRTs.
There are three models with different cabinet styles in the RA-112A series: The Ardmore open console (RA-112-A1 in mahogany; RA-112-A4 in blonde), the Westerly console with doors (RA-112-A2 in mahogany; RA-112-A5 in blonde), and the Mt. Vernon (RA-112-A3 in mahogany; RA-112-A6 in blonde).
There are four models with different cabinet styles in the RA-113B series: The Brookville open console (RA-113-B1 in mahogany; RA-113-B2 in blonde), the Revere console with doors (RA-113-B3 in mahogany; RA-113-B4 in blonde), the Burlingame console with doors (RA-113-B5 in mahogany; RA-113-B6 in blonde), and the Tarrytown console with doors (RA-113-B7 in mahogany; RA-113-B8 in blonde). The Tarrytown models include a 3-speed phonograph and an AM tuner in addition to the FM/TV coverage of the other sets.
