6-Pin Coil Former 538

The Eddystone Cat. No. 538 is a ribbed 6-pin plug-in coil former, moulded in DL9 bakelite.
Outside diameter 40.6 mm, winding length 55 mm.
8 ribs, cut 14 turns per inch.
The images show the former after a 7-turn coil has been wound on it.

The Cat. No. 537 coil former is the same as Cat. No. 538 except that the ribs are not cut.
Older versions with Cat. Nos. 1002 and 1003, which were advertised in the 1935 Eddystone Short Wave Components Catalogue, are similar to Cat. Nos. 537 and 538 respectively, but their bases can be removed to facilitate winding and connection to the pins. They no longer appeared in the 1954 Eddystone Radio Products catalogue.

All the 6-pin coil formers fit the Cat. No. 964 6-Pin Coil Base.
