  • Remarques
  • The Eddystone Cat Nos 50 and 529 Flexible Couplers are designed to connect standard 1/4" diameter control shafts without backlash. They allow for a slight misalignment of the shafts and provide a high degree of insulation between a component and a panel control. The Cat No 50 version has an outside diameter of 38.9 mm, a hub diameter of 12.7 mm, a width of 23.8 mm, and weighs 20 g. It withstands a 50 Hz AC proof voltage of 6.75 kV for one minute. The smaller Cat No 529 model has an outside diameter of 26.6 mm, a hub diameter of 9.53 mm, a width of 21.4 mm, and weighs 9 g. Its proof voltage is 3.75 kV.

In both models the insulating material is white DL12, the spring spokes are nickel plated phosphor bronze, the hubs are nickel plated brass, the grub screws are zinc plated and passivated steel, while the rivets are nickel plated copper. Some of the couplers have "Eddystone Radio" moulded in the insulation, others have "2494P", and some have "Rd. No. 80.558" stamped on one of the spokes. Some military versions carry the UK Air Ministry stores number 10A/12380.

An even smaller Cat No 550 coupler was produced that is designed for 5/32" diameter shafts. Cat No 893 is similar to Cat No 529 but has a 12.7 mm diameter hub and uses nylon loaded bakelite insulation instead of DL12.
