Cylinder Phonograph Puck

Twentieth Century Phonograph for musical cylinders (Puck type), Edison Bell, circa 1903. If you had bought a Puck from Edison Bell in 1903, it would have cost you $12. If you had gone to Waterfield, Clifford & Co., a practically identical machine (sold like all the models of this company, under the "New Century" brand) would have been yours for only 6 dollars. Elsewhere they were even cheaper. The only advantage of the Edison Bell was that if you were dissatisfied with the performance of the machine, you could return it for full price in exchange for a better machine.

Fonografo Twentieth Century per cilindri musicali (tipo Puck), Edison Bell, 1903 circa. Se aveste comprato un Puck dalla Edison Bell nel 1903, Vi sarebbe costato 12 dollari. Se foste andati dalla Waterfield, Clifford & Co., una macchina praticamente identica (venduta come tutti i modelli di questa casa, col marchio «New Century») sarebbe stata Vostra per soli 6 dollari. Altrove erano anche più a buon mercato. Il solo vantaggio della Edison Bell era che, se non foste stati soddisfatti delle prestazioni della macchina, avreste potuto restituirla, ottenendone il prezzo pieno, in cambio parziale per un macchina migliore.
