  • Coin-operated cylinder phonograph, circa 1900. Already at the end of the last century there were several versions that worked with the introduction of a coin, which however did not allow, like modern jukeboxes, a choice between recordings. The phonograph shown here is the Edison Bijou model.

    Reiss lists this as manufactured from 1901-1908 and very rare with an estimated value of $12,000 USD (2007).

    Fonografo a cilindro a gettone, 1900 circa. Già alla fine del secolo scorso esistevano diverse versioni funzionanti con l'introduzione di una moneta, che tuttavia non permettevano, come i moderni juke-box, una scelta fra le registrazioni. Il fonografo qui rappresentato è il modello Bijou della Edison. 

    Reiss lo elenca come prodotto dal 1901-1908 e molto raro con un valore stimato di $ 12.000 USD (2007).
