  • Ancho, altura, profundidad
  • 458 x 336 x 430 mm / 18 x 13.2 x 16.9 inch
  • Anotaciones
  • The tape winds on the take up spool oxide side out, so full track machine. There is a separate monitor head.

Speed is 7.5 & 3.75 ips. Other models in the series will have different speeds.

A switch on the rear selects the metering function.

The internal loudspeaker has an on/off switch.

Very similar to TR50 (lacking dial centre rear). There are a number of different superficially similar TR51 models.

It is portable only in the sense of transportable at a time when similar tape recorders were large consoles. It's very heavy with two stout handles. When the lid is closed it resembles a "flight case".

There are two main electronics chassis:

    PSU & Audio amp: DH77 (or 6AT6) N78 U50

    Record/Replay: This has EF40 x 2 and Z77  on a single anti-vibration mount with L77 EF91 N78  mounted directly.

Removal from "Rexine" style covered Wooden "Flight Case".

    1. Un-hitch the lid retaining bar and place unit upside down on a foam mat or cushion.
    2. Remove rear panel (knob pulls off) and remove meter switch extension shaft.
    3. Undo 4 screws on base.
    4. Lift box/cabinet off the chassis.
