Visible on the picture of the inside of this radio, the chassis of this radio
has a little red sticker on the left.
It reads " Licenced by Philips" and a serialnumber.
The same chassis I have found in an - Aetherkruiser AK401-
Aetherkruiser and Erres came from the same, van der Heem, factory.

I have recently bought this radio as it is the model my parents had
as their first radio. It is visible on some pictures I have from my
third birthday.

Not mentioned at the KY196 and AK401 is that the set also employs
a 4662 indicator. The brass knob on the right ( back ) of the chassis
controls the illumination of this indicator.
On the far left ( on the picture of the back of the radio ) the axis of
a knob is visible that has a complicated construction.  It has a set
of detent wheels that give the knob double function. When pulled
it is the tuning knob. When pushed it is to switch bands.
This construction is also at the volume knob.
