This Bluebird tape recorder wa one of 40 or more made by Jack Ferry for Ralph A. Peterson, Pirie Street, Adelaide, who sold them in 1956 as dictation equipment. Complete with foot control and headphones, it had a single speed of 1 7/8 ips, was half track record and automatic record level control. Some of the machines with panels engraved "Bluebird" finished up being sold as Ferry tape dictation equipment, with the Ferry name covering the original Bluebird. Donated by R. Mortimer.
