  • The Fisher Custom Electra VI Consoles model E-48 were manufactured in 1963. The preamp/tuner chassis with MPX-65 multiplexer is 490T and the amplifier is chassis 480A. The turntable is a Garrard AT-6, which is a 4 speed automatic record changer with a Pickering magnetic cartridge. The Electra VI is a stereo unit. The Electra VI was manufactured in at least the following cabinet styles: Modern, French Provincial, Italian Provincial (as E-48-IP in Walnut) and Early American (as E-48-EA in Maple).

    Some of these cabinet styles can be of different wood or polish: Modern E-48-M is in Mahogany, E-48-W in Walnut and E-48-T in Teak. French Provincial is possible as E-48-P in Fruitwood or E-48-PM in Mahogany. We do not differ the woods but the styles by having different model pages for each style. The cost was $ 595 for modern and $ 645 for the others of these 19 tube models with 40 watts output (consumes 180 watts). There are two 10" bass speakers, two mid-range and two high-frequency speakers. See also fisherconsoles.com or audiokarma.org. The sticker shows Chassis 490-T and 480-A (with 6 tubes) - not 490A. The amplifier often has the European tubes 2 x ECC83 and 4 x EL84. The same applies for the tuner - just click the tubes to get the European designations or characteristics/values for the tubes. Fisher names a "MicroRay Tuning Indicator", built-in FM and AM antennas. There is a provision for adding the Fisher Dynamic Spacexpander Model K-10.

    This is the Custom Electra VI E-48 Console "French Provincial" in Fruitwood or Mahogany measures 48" by 30.25 by 19 3/8". Instead of the four 6BQ5/EL84 it uses four tubes 7189.
