  • Anotaciones
  • The spectrum analyser type S.540 is a panoramic receiver for the installation, testing and maintenance of broadband communication networks and for general use in the detection and evaluation of signal spectra in the band 25MHz to 140MHz. The frequency range is tuned by a single control and the 5in flat face CRT provides a panoramic display over a
bandwidth which may be continuously varied between limits equivalent to 1% to 55% of the centre tune frequency in use. Signal resolutions of 7kHz and 35kHz provide for the analysis of the sideband spectra of modulated transmissions and crystal markers give
frequency identification at multiples of 2MHz or 10MHz.  The vertical amplitude display is
logarithmic and calibrated over 45dB and may be switched to give a linear display when preferred. Signal sensitivity for a discernible display is approximately +22dB relative to 1µV/75Ω.
The analyser is derived from a design of the British Post Office Engineering Department  (type 1B) and is in operational use.
