This is the constant-impedance voltmeter employing a copper-oxide-rectifier indicator that was introduced by the General Radio Company about five years ago (1930) for measuring the performance of  radio receivers. It is, of course, useful wherever audio-frequency voltages are to be measured.
Three impedance values have been selected as the one most generally needed. Particular attention is directed to the Type 483-C  Output Meter which has a voltage range of 0-200 volts and an internal impedance of 20,000 ohms. [GR Catalog H 1935 (April)]
