- Notes
-
The General Electric 50 is an AC operated 5 tube BC band clock radio. The BC band range is 540 to 1600 kHz. Has built-in loop antenna. Cabinet colors available in White, Black, Dark Ivory, Ivory and Red, White Urea, Brown Mottle.
To overcome a shortage of 35Z5GT tubes, a large portion of model 50 receivers substituted a miniature 35W4 tube in place of the 35Z5GT tube. These tubes have similar characteristics, but the 35W4 requires a miniature tube socket. The socket is adapted to the regular chassis hole by an adapter plate.
The schematic and chassis used in this model is also used in models 50W and 50WR.
