  • Forma
  • Radio di design, novelty, gadget, pubblicitaria o di forma inusuale
  • Annotazioni
  • This G & F Sales Company Radio is designed and known as Searchlight, Spy-Glass or Disk-shaped Radio. G & F made (or marketed) novelties and gambling games for bars -- of which this was likely a prize. It was made around the time of the Century of Progress International Exposition. The 1933 Chicago World's Fair held to celebrate Chicago's centennial. The theme of the fair was technological innovation.

But this information stands in contrast to the tube line up: If the the first tube was a 25L6 (metal) then model year 1936 is possible, if it is the 25L6G then the earlist year can be 1937 and if the first used tube was 25L6GT, then year 1938 is the earliest possible model year. And the magic eye was not possible in 1933.
