  • This is the first version of the Grebe RORD vacuum tube detector /2-Stage Audio Amplifier. This model was first advertised in July of 1919. The early Grebe RORD's and RORK's had external exposed rheostat windings. Sometime in 1921 Grebe redesigned the rheostat assembly to use a thumb wheel for adjustment and windings behind the front panel. The RORD was typically paired with such tuners/receivers as the Grebe CR-2 or CR-3.
