Hallo liebe Sammlerkollegen,

Fellow Radiophiles,
I am looking for a scan of the dial glass for the Grundig Concert-Boy 57.
I plan to print the scan on a clear transparency, then place the transparency behind a new piece of clear glass to replace the broken glass. I plan to try using the yellow toner of a color laser printer to imitate the gold paint.
The radio that this glass is for was kindly given to me by RMORG member Ross Hochstrasser.Ross has a very extensive collection of German Radios. It must be one of the largest German radio collections in the USA, if not the largest.
The dial glass can be accessed by removing the chassis. Four nuts hold down the chassis against the case front, and the speaker wires have to be disconnected. A long nut-driver is needed. Then the knobs are easily removed by loosening their screws. The glass should then be removable for scanning.
This dial has a single layer of paint. The scan should be done with the paint side face down on the glass for sharpest clarity. The scan will show an image in reverse, but this is not a problem.
The scan toning and file formatting is best done as is for a schematic.
Alernately, perhaps someone can sell me a spare glass, or know a service that makes reproductions.
Regards,
-Joe

Dear RM members:
I am trying to restore my Grundig UKW Concert Boy 57, when play on line supply, sound is weak and distorted, the supply voltage is very low, measured on EL95 plate 135V (Normal 180V), on C56 170V (Normal 225V).
I carefully checked and found R18 looks like burnt, it is marked as NSF 1810-212, I checked its risistance, it is initially 18Kohm and goes up, seems to be stablized at 25Kohm. Anyone know what R18 is, a special resistor? How does it cause the problem? Where could I find a replacement?
Thank you very much for attention and looking forward to your help.
