  • The Hammarlund HQ-129-X (late) Communications Receiver has the following features:

    • Covers 540 kHZ - 31 MHz in six bands:
      • 540 - 1320 kHz
      • 1.32 - 3.2 MHz
      • 3.2 - 5.7 MHz
      • 5.7 - 10 MHz
      • 10 - 18 MHz
      • 18 - 31 MHz
    • Bandspread in 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 amateur bands.
    • AM, CW(BFO).
    • Headphones jack.
    • Optional matching PSC-10 speaker.
    • Optional FS-135-C Frequency Standard (Crystal Calibrator) may be added by modifying the chassis.

    The HQ-129-X (early) model does not have bandspread on the 15 meter band (21 MHz) and is identified with white lettering of the Hammarlund badge & HQ-129-X model number; bandspread logging scale is 0 to 200.

    The HQ-129-X (late) model does have bandspread on the 15 meter band (21 MHz) and is identified with red lettering of the Hammarlund badge & HQ-129-X model number; bandspread logging scale is 0 to 100.

    Price at introduction was $129 (early model) (intended to reflect the model number), but price increased the following year and sold for $239 (late model) by the end of production in 1953.
