    This predecessor of the Hammarlund SP-600 set has been advertised already in 1948 in the ARRL catalogue, the pictures in the ad did show a set, that never has been sold in the variant as advertised and as seen on the pictures:
    *** any informations, whether this set did exist as a working prototype or not would be highly appreciated ***
    Informations according to the advertisement:
    Six bands from 540 kHz to 54 MHz. Crystal filter. Bandwidth variable in 6 steps. Calibrated band spread for 80, 40, 20, 10 and 6 meter amateur bands. Price is 1948 including PM speaker in cabinet.

According to OM Charlie N9SOR (http://www.hammarlund.org) and
Les Locklear (http://www.hammarlund.info)
the set SPC-600-X as advertised has never existed nor ever been sold to the public, it did probably only exist as laboratory prototype. From one of these, the pictures in the advertisement may have been taken. Obviously, none of these prototypes has survived the clearing out, when the old company plant has been sold.
