Dear Forum members,

I have a schematic for the Harman-Kardon A-400 FM tuner from 1956, but it is in a very efficient pdf format. I have found it very difficult to separate out the pdf pages and re-convert them to gif format without significant loss in quality and increase in overall file size.

I have used GSview and IrfanView and Photoshop, but the results result in some degradation and file size increase.

The file linked above is only 438kB in size, and includes 5 high quality scans that meet RM standards before they are taken appart for gif uploading.

If an RM admin can take the pdf and simply separate out the pdf pages for the schematic upload in the model page, it would be the best way to retain quality without a size increase. I use the pdf995 utility for pdf page merge and separation.

If an RM member would like to try converting this pdf into gif form with good results, please feel free to do so and increase your reserve of UACS points.

I obtained the pdf from the Harman-Kardon web site. They offer the schematics as a courtesy without distribution restrictions.

Regards,

-Joe
