  • The guarantee label, which is attached, to every “jubilee” De-Luxe Speaker, gives some indication of the confidence the makers have in this product. H. Hecht and Co., who are sole distributors, believe that if a speaker is made faithfully and only very high quality materials used, there is no necessity to limit a guarantee to ninety days, or even twelve months. If a speaker is not going to givetrouble-free service for a very much longer period than a year, then it is a very poor proposition to the purchaser. That this confidence is not misplaced is readily understood by H. Hecht and Co.’s claim that of the many thousands of Jubilee Speakers now in service not one solitary replacement of a faulty part has yet been necessary.

This product immediately impresses owing to its very fine finish in chromium plating.Chromium plating was chosen for the finish of “Jubilee” de-luxe dynamic speaker as being rust less and untarnishable and altogether in keeping with the high quality maintained throughout their manufacture.

An inspection of the “Jubilee” de-luxe brings to light a number of interesting features. The voice-coil is wound on a bakelite former. This material, of course, is non-hydroscopic and consequently no variation can take place in the air-gap between the voice coil former and the pole piece. This air-gap is smaller than in most speakers, and consequently the “Jubilee” reproduces with remarkable clarity and also has a very high degree of sensitivity.

The field coil is of exceedingly generous proportions, there being a full 17oz. of the highest quality wire in each one. This large field coil activates any possibility of breakdown in this portion of the speaker.

The input transformer appears to be carefully made from the best quality wire obtainable, while it is laminated with a special paper of very high insulation properties. This component is thoroughly impregnated with condenser wax.

In tone the “Jubilee” is very pleasing, and the reproduction throughout the whole musical scaleis good. High notes and low notes are all reproduced with their full values, and reproduction can generally, be referred to as exceedingly faithful. Wireless Weekly Sep 23, 1932, Page 56.
