- Anotaciones
- This listing is for the commercial version of the Hewlett Packard 175A oscilloscope, but is also applicable to the USA military versions AN/USM-186 and OS-175/U model designations, since HP was not prone to manufacture units designed exclusively for the military (a trait shared with Tektronix). Tube listing above only has unique values. There are twenty-four 6DJ8 and four 1X2B tubes in the mainframe portion of the unit (not including the plug-ins)and this unit makes extensive use of transistors in low-power applications. The pictured unit has the 1754A four-channel amplifier and 1781A delay generator in the two plug-in slots; these units are listed separately in the Museum. This oscilloscope has a maximum frequency display of 50 MHz, a function of the CRT design, independent of the plug-in specifications. It is a tube/transistor hybrid, with care in the design to minimize the number of different tube types used. The unit has a standard P31 phosphor CRT driven with a 12 kV accelerating potential, with optional P2, P7 or P11 phosphors available. The CRT design is unique for its day in that it applied the acceleration voltage to a thin spiral metal-gauze shield, a convex mesh with extremely small aperatures located at the junction of the tube neck just inside of where the tube begins to splay out to full screen size.
