Power Sensor 8484A is used for measuring the average power supply from an RF source with a Power Meter (like model HP 435A).
Properties and specifications:

Power Measurement Range 100 pW to 10 µW (-70 dBm to -20 dBm);
Maximum Permissible RF Power, Average or Peak 200 mW;
Maximum dc Voltage to RF Input 20 V;
RF Impedance 50 ohms nominal; Type N Male RF connector;
For calibration with 1 mW an HP 11708A 30 dB Attenuator is required to reduce the power to an allowable level of 1 µW;
By the addition of a 60dB - 10W attenuator (or a 30 dB 10W in series with a 30 dB 10 mW attenuator) Power Sensor 8484A allows to measure power levels up to 10W. (Power Sensor HP 8481H is only capable to measure a maximum power of 3W, using the 0.3 mW - 10 W dial knob option of Power Meter 435A.)
