An AC mains 4 band (MW, LW, SW1, SW2) superhet table radio housed in a wooden cabinet. Same chassis as the Marconiphone 538 table radio, the HMV 479 and HMV 489 radiograms and the Marconiphone 539 and Marconiphone 549 radiograms. Released September 1937 price 19 guineas, reduced to 15 guineas in August 1938.
