    A six-transistor portable radio, housed in Cyclolac plastic case. Colours: storm grey or apache red.

    Features: Ferrite rod aerial, connection for earpiece. Operates from one Eveready Type 2362 battery. Speaker 2¾" Hi-Flux, 50 ohm voice coil. Frequency range 540-1600 kC/s (kHz). Printed circuit for ease of servicing. Complete with earpiece and carrying strap. (FROM MINGAY'S PRICE SERVICE)

    Manufacturer's literature lists 2 different series of transistors. The initial series is as above and the later series is OC170, 2N1624, 2N1634, 2N408A, 2N649, 2N408. The diodes appear unchanged and there are no other citcuit changes noted.

    Unusually for this period, the radio name on the front of the radio is highlighted with enamel in 3 different colours; HMV is highlighted in yellow, ESCORT in white and TRANSISTOR in red.

    Alternative battery types:  Berec PP22, National 106P, Ray-O-Vac RR362 & Toshiba T106P.

    Weight is with battery and includes carry strap and earphone.

    The price was advertised as 22 Guineas Australian, which is approximately £23/2/- (£23.1) or $46.20.
