• Bemerkung

• This is a major technical remake of the HMV Sprite, introducing 4 silicon transistors but retaining the two germanium transistors for the final stage. The polarity on the circuit board is reversed but the dual 7.5 Volt battery (Eveready 2510 or equivalent) was retained. Bias resistor values were changed from the JA circuit used in the Sprite but component layout and numbers remain.

  In appearance, it matches the Sprite but the faceplate is black, not cream and the trim is Chrome not Gold Anodised. Back colours available in Red, Tan & Charcoal. The weight remains the same as the Sprite.

  There are at least 3 series of transistors used; see the Forum entry attached to this model.

  The same chassis is used in the Tropicana Mk.2.
