His Masters Voice HMV Transistor Townsman Australian scale, dial light, tone control.
This is a portable (only) model with no provision for an external power supply. Used an Eveready Type 276-P battery. The case rear was available in a variety of colours: Beige/White, Coral Pink/White, Turquoise/White & Charcoal/White. There is provision for external earth and antenna connections in the rear casing. Weight includes battery.
Initially designated HMV TRANSISTOR on the handle. Easily confused with the early J4-17 Rangemaster released at the same time.
