    A 17" portable AC-operated TV receiver, in which silicon planar transistors have mostly replaced valves. Flat face rectangular front, "new-look" picture tube. Suitable for operation in all but extreme fringe areas.

    Features: lightweight aluminium chassis, printed board and transistors in signal (low power) circuits; valves and handwiring for high current sections. Inbuilt telescopic antenna with provision for easy connection to external antenna. Full-width drop-down carrying handle. Speaker, front-mounted, 5" x 3"; output 1½ watt. Hearing aid socket for personal listening (an earpiece is supplied). Neutrode turret tuner for 13 channels. (MINGAY'S PRICE SERVICE)

    Early production runs used Horizontal Output Transformer, EMI Part No. 908-0851. Commencing April 1967 this was replaced with EMI Part No. 908-0881. (TDS No. 40)
