The alignment and adjustments for the PCR1000 are stored in an EEPROM, rather than as trimmer and screwdriver adjustments used in conventional radio receivers. If the contents of the EEPROM are damaged or destroyed, the radio will either function erratically or stop working altogether. The contents of the EEPROM can be backed up using one of the "Freeware" programs, such as "TalkPcr".

If this isn't done, then the radio can be realigned and readjusted using the iCom program "EX2099". (It's probably best to let an iCom trained serviceman carry out these procedures!)

Before attempting to adjust the set check that it isn't in SSB mode with the Bandscope on.

The "front end" of the set is also easily destroyed by static on the antenna, such as experienced in the part of the world where I live.
