Dear colleagues,
I am slightlly confused by the UKW (AM) 10 Tasten in the Notes - Is it possible the UKW may refer to the very highest frequencies within the Shortwave bands. The US radio broadcasts were in the earliest years of FM broadcasting. . . is there any correlation to the "frequency modulation" transmissions?
Or is it in reference to the motorized pre-set tuning (with a sliding disc across opposite sets of high and low sets of contacts?? The operation appears to be somewhat similar to that found in the Grundig 4040/5040/5040 models.

Hallo sammlerfreunde.Habe einen Gigant 40 herumstehen und möchte fragen ob es sich lohnt dieses Radio restaurieren zu lassen.Gehäuse guter Zustand-Innenleben auch.
Gibt es vielleicht einen Kenner in Österreich der Radio mechanisch herrichten würde.

Hallo Sammlerfreunde,
kann mir jemand die Funktion dieses in der Rückansicht sichtbaren riesigen Rades erklären? Ich bin ein solches Gerät am aufarbeiten und habe die Elektronik bereits empfangstauglich. Nun muss ich mich noch mit der Motorabstimmung (?) auseinandersetzen. Der Schaltplan gibt leider in der Richtung nicht viel her. Aktueller Stand: der Motor schaltet nicht ab und läuft heiss, die Endstufe ist stummgeschaltet. Unterbreche ich die Leitung der Stummschaltung habe ich vom reinen Radioteil her tadellose Funktion.
