    The Shapleigh Hardware Company 1936 catalog, page 2000, describes the model 42 Kadette Jewel radio as having a mahogany plaskon cabinet with tortoise grille. Measurements in the Shapleigh catalog did not include knobs.

    Colors and material per Shapleigh's 1936 catalog:                       

    Model 40: brown bakelite with two-tone grill.

    Model 41: walnut bakelite with agate grill.

    Model 42: mahogany plaskon with tortoise grill.

    Model 43: ivory plaskon with alabaster grill.

    Model 44: chinese red plaskon with coral grill.

    Model 45: black onyx plaskon with jade grill.

    Model 46: orchid plaskon with moonstone grill. (Today's collectors call this lavender)

    Additional colors and materials per August 1935 Radio Journal ad, page 12:

    Model 47: black pearl plaskon with silver grill.

    Model 48: marble plaskon with black onyx grill.
