This JAX 5-tube Cathedral uses an inexpensive level of componentry, consisting of an untuned 1st RF amp (58), a tuned 2nd RF amp (58), a detector (57), a single-ended output amp (47), and a full-wave rectifier (80). The tube types are embossed in the tube sockets, and there is a single 2.5V screw-base dial lamp. The circuitry is nearly identical to that of the Empire Electric 550.
The cabinet is the same as the cabinet used by the Echophone model D. In fact, the vertical panels on the front of the cabinet are blanks used to cover the knob holes and dial cutout of the Echophone D. In that respect, the cabinet is very similar to the cabinet used for the Echophone 70, which also is built inside remaining stock of the Echophone D cabinet with blanks covering the openings.
No model number is known. Also sold under the name Colonial.
