It is a 12-tube-Superheterodyne with RF stage, has a separate AVC detector and AVC amplifier and an instrument tuning meter. It has an increased wavelength rate and tunes from 530 to 1750 kc (165 to 565 m) including Police Band. Careful: The chassis uses a high voltage up to 1040 volts on the transformer, anodes of the two IF stages and the class "A" push-pull anodes at 405 volts! One of the 45 tubes is used as an auxiliary power rectifier. The tube 82 is a mercury vapor rectifier.
The model B-51 chassis is listed at $ 117.50 but the Lafayette price is $ 49.50. Most models for this chassis are available under different model numbers for either 110 or 220 volts. See details for the models of this catalog.
