  • The Lafayette catalog calls this model C-79 American 7 tube AC-DC 5 band Superhet, but counted is also the ballast tube Amperite 3-40 which we don't count as tube. Wave length is 18,5 - 52,5 m, 75 - 190 m and 187,5 - 545 m. The C-79 and C-80 models are listed on the same schematic at Rider's 7-5. The C-80 is called European and differs only in the wave bands: 18.5 - 52.5, 193.5 - 545 and 910 - 2140 m. The cases are the same with "Airplane dial". both can be had for 220 - 250 volts for addl. $ 1.00. Amperite ballast tube has to be changed from 4-30 to type 220.
